Medical disclaimer

Everything on this website, in the books, in the Oasis, and in our videos is for general education. It is not medical advice.
Not a substitute for your doctor
Raymond Koekemoer is not a medical professional. Nothing here diagnoses, treats, cures, or prevents any disease, and nothing here replaces the advice of a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian, or other qualified healthcare provider who knows your history. Reading this site or the books does not create a healthcare relationship.
Before you change your routine
Speak with your healthcare provider before making significant changes to your fluid intake, diet, or daily routine, especially if you:
- have diabetes, or take insulin or other blood-sugar-lowering medicine;
- have heart, kidney, or liver disease, or high blood pressure;
- have been told to limit fluid, salt, or fat;
- have difficulty swallowing;
- take diuretics (“water pills”), blood thinners, or sedating medicines.
Never change, skip, or re-time a prescribed medicine because of something you read here. If you manage diabetes, never drop a meal or snack that is part of your care plan.
When to get help
Call your local emergency number immediately for chest pain or pressure, sudden severe shortness of breath, signs of a stroke (sudden confusion, trouble speaking, facial drooping, or weakness on one side), or swelling of the lips or throat.
See a doctor promptly for rectal bleeding, black or tarry stools, unexplained weight loss, a lasting change in bowel habits, severe or persistent abdominal pain, fever, blood in the urine, or new swelling in the legs or ankles. A routine will not address these.
Personal experience and teaching pictures
The books describe one person’s experience alongside traditional ideas and general physiology. What helped the author may not suit you. Names such as “The Desert Gut” are teaching pictures for self-observation. They are not medical diagnoses.
